Why I Created the Write to Heal Course

There are some stories we tell publicly, and some stories we quietly carry for years. Some stories live in journals no one has ever read. Some sit in the nervous system, in memories, in questions, in grief, in shame, or in the ache of things we never fully processed. Some stories are still waiting for words.

Over the years, I have become increasingly fascinated by the connection between writing, healing, reflection, and hope. I have seen how writing has helped both myself and my clients, process experiences, make meaning from pain, reconnect with themselves, and even begin moving forward again.

That is part of the heart behind the upcoming Write to Heal course.

This course is not about becoming a bestselling author. It is not about perfect grammar, polished prose, or publishing contracts. While some participants may eventually choose to publish their stories, the deeper purpose of this course is something much more personal.

It is about learning to sit honestly with your story. It is about reflection. It is about courage.

It is about giving language to experiences that may have remained buried, fragmented, or difficult to express.

The course will explore themes related to storytelling, healing, faith, reflection, trauma, growth, and personal writing. We will discuss how writing can help us process difficult experiences, reconnect with meaning, and recognize the ways God can work even through painful chapters of life.

I also believe many people carry stories they have never fully told because they fear judgment, rejection, vulnerability, or feeling “not good enough” to write. But meaningful writing is not reserved only for famous authors or experts. Some of the most powerful stories are written by ordinary people telling the truth about their lives.

Stories of grief. Stories of survival. Stories of faith. Stories of redemption. Stories of becoming.

The Write to Heal course will be fully online and self-paced, allowing participants to move through the material gently and privately. My hope is to create a space that feels encouraging, reflective, creative, and hope-filled.

Because sometimes writing is not only about producing a book. Sometimes writing is about helping the heart finally speak.
